Particular attention needs to be made when planting near pools. You need to consider the type of species you place near your pool for for the following reasons:-

• Leaf litter falling into the pool area
• Vigourous roots on certain species that can damage your pool
• water requirement (will these plants get enough water, or too much water)
• Salt water affecting the plants
• Room to plant around the pool (width and depth of garden bed)

The following species are good suggestions for around your pool:-

1. Acmena Smithii (Lilly Pilly)
2. Metrosiderous (New Zealand Christmas Bush)
3. Murraya Paniculata (orange jasmine)
4. Sygygium Varieties (Lilly Pilly)

An Excellent shade tree or speciment tree near pools:-

1. Magnolia Little Gem
2. Fraxinus Griffithii (Evergreen Ash)
