Hi Mark, The best time to prune maples is in winter when they have completely lost their foliage, this way you can see the true shape of the tree. Make sure you give your maple a good feed with slow release fertiliser after pruning to promote lovely new growth in spring. All the best.

Deciduous tall shrub or small tree with lovely bright green foliage in spring/summer that turns to bright orande and red in autumn. Prefers rich well draiined soil. Protect from afternoon sun and hot winds.
